| Description: | Top-flange hangers for engineered wood are an integral component for providing maximum down loads that require a minimum amount of fasteners. These metal connectors are created to be installed before the joist is in place. The Simpson Strong-Tie MIT is designed to support 90 connections of I-joists to headers. This top-flange hanger features a Funnel Flange design allowing for easier placement of members. The hanger also features positive-angle nailing (PAN), specifically created for I-joists to minimize splitting. * Positive-angle nailing (PAN) minimizes splitting of the flanges while permitting time-saving nailing from a better angle * With positive-angle nailing, the nail hole material is not removed * Optional triangle nail holes may be used for increased uplift capacity; optional uplift nailing requires the addition of properly-secured web stiffeners * Cost-effective solution for standard 90 connections in comparison to welded hangers * Features optional fastening with PAT for steel applications/header * Actual joist size: Double 2-5/16-in x 9-1/2-in * Made from 16-gauge steel * Galvanized (G90) for extra corrosion resistance * Install with 0.162-in x 3-1/2-in nails in the header and 0.148-in x 1-1/2-in nails in the joist |
